For the first time in recent years, Kentucky State University's Division of Fine Arts, Area of Music, will have a Chamber Music Concert Series.

Dr. Barbara Buck, chairwoman of the Division of Fine Arts, said the series will feature chamber music of various styles, including a combination of strings and piano and chamber music that showcases vocal, wind instruments and piano.

Three black composers - Joseph Boulonge (Le Chevalier de Saint-George), Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and William Grant Still - will be the subject of a seminar on Feb. 16 and a concert on Feb. 24.

"This program is unique because we rarely hear chamber music by black composers," Buck said.
