Woodlawn Cemetery was opened in 1863 and was, at the time, located in a rural area north of New York City. Over time, the city grew to encompass the area around the cemetery, transforming it from a peaceful, rural setting to the middle of a bustling metropolis. Below, I have information about the graves of 10 of the most prominent people buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
