Job Description

Strategic Recruitment & Executive Search: Proven ability to lead high-level recruitment and headhunting for senior and specialized positions.
Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, exceptional communication, and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated cultural sensitivity in diverse environments.
Policy & Compensation Design: Expertise in developing and implementing HR policies, compensation structures, and job grading systems.
Employee Development & Engagement: Committed to staff development, performance management, and fostering a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
Develop and implement HR strategies and policies aligned with UVI's mission and goals.
Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and retention for faculty and staff.
Design and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs.
Lead performance management, training, and professional development initiatives.
Advise senior leadership on employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Ensure compliance with federal and Virgin Islands labor laws and university policies.
Foster a workplace culture of respect, integrity, and collaboration.
Oversee HR systems and maintain accurate, confidential personnel records.
Direct executive recruitment for senior and specialized roles.
Ensure Banner and PeopleAdmin are properly configured to support HR workflows like recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
Support organizational design, succession planning, and workforce development.
Implement validation rules and audit processes to minimize errors in employee records.
Regularly review and clean data to maintain integrity across systems.
Use analytics to track KPIs such as time-to-hire, turnover rates, and compensation benchmarks.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field
Professional HR certification required.
Minimum of 8–10 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proficiency in HR information systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in higher education
Doctorate Preferred
Experience with Banner or similar ERP system.

Physical Demands

Must be able to travel for meetings, conferences, and training.
Occasional weekend and evening work.
Must be self-motivated.
Must have the ability to be composed as all time.
Must have to ability to sit for an extended period of time.
Work environment: The noise level in the work environment will be moderate.
High stress environment.
High pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to use a computer and common business software.
Must have some knowledge of social media, including but not limited to the internet.
