Celebrate the Holiday Season by treating yourself to some Live Music! Buy Your Ticket to "Sing The Truth"! (1697 hits)

SING THE TRUTH is a new production honoring the music and spirit of great women of jazz, folk, r&b, gospel and the blues. The lead stars Angelique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves, and Lizz Wright continue the legacies of recently departed legends Miriam Makeba, Abbey Lincoln, and Odetta, and perform songs by other great women of music, ranging from Billie Holiday to Lauryn Hill, along with selections of their own original songs.

If your not familiar with Miriam Makeba it's time you get to know her. A few of us HBCU Connect staff members had the pleasure of being introduced to her over a decade ago when our Dad popped in her tape during one of our road trips. We fell in love with her powerful voice. A couple of our favorite songs include "Meet Me At The River" and "Mbube" (In The Jungle).
